Jason Davis

Postdoctoral Researcher

Jason Davis

Jason Davis is a postdoc at the Center for Peace and Security Studies. His work explores the political economy of international trade and conflict, and is published in American Journal of Political Science and Review of International Organizations. Prior to arriving at UCSD, he was a postdoc at University of Pennsylvania's Browne Center for International Politics, and completed his Ph.D in Political Science and an M.A. in Economics at University of Michigan. His work in the conflict domain examines the domestic foundations of interstate conflict and coercion. While the rationalist conflict literature generally conceives of war as a result of a bargaining process between states, and thus posits sources of bargaining failure at the interstate level, his work unpacks the internal domestic conditions that can ultimately result in interstate bargaining failure. He will be joining Florida State University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2022. For more information, please visit Jason's website at http://umich.edu/~jasonsd
